Back in 1971, George Brauneis was one of tens of thousands of children that wrote letters to Congress and our President in support of Wild Horse Annie’s efforts to better protect our Wild Horses and Burros. He was in the saddle before he could even walk. He grew up with Taffy a beautiful Palomino mare and Old Ed, a scruffy and loveable Mammoth donkey. The love of horses and donkeys, Mustangs and burros runs deep. 

Alecz Adams, President and Director of Equine Operations at 10th Mountain Equine. Trainer at Alecz Adams Horse and Rider Training, she has been working professionally with horses for over 35 years internationally. A successful competition and pro rider in a variety of disciplines: Hunters, Jumpers, Eventing, Reining, Trail, English Equitation, Western Pleasure, and many Gymkhana Events, she currently works as a horse trainer, private riding instructor, Depth Hypnosis Practitioner, Equine Assisted Activity Facilitator, Ranch Manager, and Mustanger with the Mustang Summit.

Tim McGaffic has studied with many of the great legends and to this day remains a student looking for greater knowledge and deeper understanding of stock dogs, horses and stockmanship. Tim was introduced to Ray Hunt during the 1980s while working with difficult horses on a Colorado Ranch. That experience changed his thinking about how to handle horses and set him on a journey to search out Tom and Bill Dorrance and horseman of similar philosophy.

Wild Hearts Haven is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which prides itself in providing compassionate rehabilitative care, re-starting, and rehoming services to equines in transition.

The program was founded by Bree Thompson and Taryn Hillman, who share a passion for helping unwanted and troubled horses, in need of a safe haven, by granting them an opportunity to restart their lives. Many of these horses are Mustangs, who have been mishandled and suffered trauma, and require immersion in a peaceful new environment, with skilled caretakers and trainers, which empowers them to recover and gradually trust people.

Paige has had a burning passion for horses for her entire life. She grew up riding and working with a variety of horses in a vast array of disciplines, and spending time building connections with her equine companions. After adopting her first mustang, Zyana, in late 2018, she found her place in life, building connections with mustangs. Since adopting Zyana, Paige has worked with mustangs from all walks in life, including spending 3 years as a MHF TIP trainer before the program closed, training for various mustang makeovers, and recently competing in the inaugural Mustang Classic, an English discipline makeover in the Rolex arena at the Kentucky Horse Park.
