The Wild Horse Refuge is a completely unique and pioneering facility that was created in order to guarantee a wild home for Colorado's native Mustangs. Wild horses are allowed to roam freely within the Refuge, which has more than 30,000 acres of land for the horses!

Mary Kitzmiller Horsemanship - https://www.marykitzmiller.com/
I come by my horse-crazy honestly. I'm the granddaughter of a rodeo cowboy. He passed away when I was a baby and while I never got to know him, I grew up with stories of his exploits which included rodeos all over the country.

Mary Miller Jordan: https://marymillerjordan.com
Mary was rocked to sleep on the backs of her grandfather's gentle Tennessee Walking horses as a baby. The horse has always been her safest place: that space where she feels most at home with her truest self.

May 04, 2026 - Wild Horse Webinar with Austin Hill & Wild Horse Refuge Public Relations Director, Austin Hill first visited The Wild Animal Sanctuary the day after graduating college in 2014 and was instantly enamored! He spent some time as a traveling educational theater actor and would read the TWAS tour guide in-between performances. Born and raised in Colorado, he grew up in a family that was heavily involved in animal rescue. By Summer 2015, he found himself joining his very favorite place/mission on the planet. He is extremely passionate about sharing the animals’ stories to educate others about the Captive Wildlife Crisis - and also of Wild Horses! Wild Horse Refuge: https://www.wildhorserefuge.org
June 2026 -Wild Horse Webinar with Ann Souders & Forever Branded After many years in corporate America, Ann attended her first Extreme Mustang Makeover in 2007 which inspired both she and her husband to compete the following year. A member of several prominent activist groups, Ann began talking to the BLM and Mustang Heritage Foundation personnel at the EMM events and spending time with many knowledgeable horsemen and women throughout her time training for the EMM. These conversations opened her eyes to another view of the plight of America’s wild horses and burros and led her to cut ties with the activist organizations and look for ways to educate others. The art of conversation comes easily to Ann so, in 2009, when Mustang Heritage Foundation invited her to join them, she jumped at the chance.

Wild Horse Webinar with Mary Kitzmiller July 6, 2026 Mary Kitzmiller Horsemanship www.marykitzmiller.com Perhaps my greatest of equine teachers has been the American Mustang. Mustang training can be an incredibly humbling experience as they do not readily hand you their trust and their heart. You must earn it. In 2011 I began competing in Extreme Mustang Makeover events which require trainers to work with a Mustang for 3-4 months and then compete with their mounts. In 2012, I placed 4th in the finals and 2013 I was awarded 5th place and $50,700 in the first ever Mustang Million competition. I was the highest placing woman of the event. I have such an immense love and respect for Mustangs and am so grateful to the wonderful Mustangs in my life that opened up a world of opportunities for me.

Wild Horse Webinar with Mary Miller Jordan from I AM Herd Sanctuary August 11, 2026 www.iamherd.com www.marymillerjordan.com www.mustangsummit.com Mary Miller-Jordan was rocked to sleep on the back of a horse before she could walk. The horse has always been her safe space, her saving grace and even her career. In 2010 Mary was selected as one of 100 trainers to compete in the ‘Richest Wild Horse Competition’ in history, the inaugural Supreme Extreme Mustang Makeover. 100 wild horses, partnered with 100 trainers, given 100 days to compete for $100,000. This competition marked not only the beginning of a growing platform from her ‘wins,’ but also changed her life from a place so deep within, that her entire view of ‘winning’ has been changed ever since.
